CEFS- DABE LEADS WEBINAR ON MITIGATING CLIMATE CHANGE EFFECTS

The College of Engineering and Food Science- Department of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering initiated a webinar titled โ€œIrrigation Strategies to Mitigate the Impacts of Climate Changeโ€ on November 11, 2023.

National Irrigation Administration- Region V Senior Engineer, Engr. Ailyn P. Aquino, served as the resource person emphasizing the different factors contributing to climate change, the statistics regarding the effects of varying climates in agriculture in our country most specifically in the Bicol region, the introduction to irrigation, its purpose, different water sources and types that are commonly used, the vulnerable areas for the El Nino phenomenon in the country, and the current issue on the effects of climate change to irrigation. The resource speaker likewise introduced different strategies that will help address these concerns.

This webinar is part of the series titled โ€œGearing-Up Initiatives towards the Development and Enhancement of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (GUIDE ABEs): Webinar Series on Agricultural and Biosystems Technologies to be conducted from November 11-December 2, 2023 (every Saturday).
