The CBSUA Pasacao Campus recently hosted a two-day seminar for its graduating students held on June 13-14, 2024, aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and insights as they transition into the professional world.
The first day tackles the PEOS Industry Insight and Pre-Employment Orientation with the theme “Exploring New Opportunities for Employment.” Assistant Professor Joanna Marie B. Perez, a dedicated faculty member at CBSUA Pasacao, led an engaging session on crafting effective resumes and job applications. Her expertise provided students with valuable tips on presenting their qualifications to potential employers.
Following this, Mrs. Claribel L. Rebueno, SSS Branch Head II of Naga City Branch, shed light on the Social Security System (SSS) services available to employees. Understanding SSS benefits and contributions is crucial for every aspiring professional.
The morning concluded with a talk by guest speaker Ms. Marilyn Regachuelo Valeza, who shared insights into the employment landscape within private school institutions. Her discussion covered recruitment processes, contractual arrangements, and professional growth opportunities.
On the second day, Graduation Introspection was conducted with the theme “Lessons Learned and Bridges Built: Preparing for Tomorrow,” focused on introspection and personal growth. Mr. Ollan Estrella kicked off the morning with practical insights on managing finances, investments, and financial planning—an essential guide for graduates entering adulthood.
Dr. Divina Gracia R. Galang emphasized the significance of work ethics in today’s professional environment. Integrity, accountability, and teamwork play pivotal roles in career success. In the afternoon, alumni Ms. Chloe Ann Palmaria, Ms. Rhea Mae Averilla, and Ms. Hazel Vitalicio shared their life stories, reflecting on their educational journey and post-graduation experiences. Their stories served as inspiration for the graduating students, reinforcing the importance of resilience and determination.
In this two-day activity, students not only gained knowledge but also forged connections, bridging the gap between academia and the real world. As they step into their future careers, they carry with them the wisdom shared by our esteemed speakers and alumni.
