Celebrating the triumph of the 8 newly registered Professional Food Technologists in the first implementation of the Food Technologist Licensure Examination, the CBSUA-Department of Food Science under the College of Engineering and Food Science, held a Recognition Ceremony and Testimonial Dinner attended by the faculty of the Department of Food Science, parents, and BSFT students on October 12, 2023, at the CBSUA Auditorium.
The activity commenced with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the University Chaplain, Fr. Rolando Canonce.
Dr. Emerson Bergonio, VP for Academic Affairs, welcomed everyone to the event as he delivered his opening remarks. He congratulated the passers for bringing pride to the university. In a special mention, he thanked the parents of the passers for entrusting their childrenβs education to the institution.
As a simple token for their triumph, the Department of Food Science awarded the passers with Certificates of Recognition.
Atty. Dominador Faurillo, VP for Administration and Finance and OIC President, conveyed congratulatory messages to the passers as well as the parents.
To share their experiences before, during, and after the licensure examination, the passers were given the opportunity to speak. They imparted what went through their preparation, the review, the filing of application for the examination, superstitious beliefs they followed, and tips to do during the exam. They even told the stories of how they were admitted to the program during their college days. Moreover, they guaranteed the future takers of the licensure examination that they will do good for they are under the care of the best faculty. Lastly, the parents of the passers, in a special opportunity, shared stories of the passersβ journey from their points of view.
Dr. Allan Del Rosario, Campus Administrator of Pili Campus, closed the program with his speech. Ms. Anna Mae Gavarra, Chairman of the Licensure Examination Review, led the toast for the success of the passers.
