On August 19, 2023, the Graduate School, under the leadership of its Dean, Dr. Claribelle C. Haber, spearheaded an Orientation Program at the Alvaro Rabina Hall. This event marked the commencement of classes for Graduate Students and aimed to welcome new enrollees, transferees, and returning students warmly.
The proceedings started with a prayer and the rendition of the Philippine National Anthem. This was seamlessly followed by the opening remarks by Dr. Emerson L. Bergonio, the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Bergonio warmly welcomed the students and provided insights into the transformative advancements underway within the Graduate School.
Subsequently, Dr. Claribelle C. Haber, the Dean of the Graduate School, introduced the esteemed members of the Academic Council, the newly appointed program chairpersons, and the dedicated faculty members. The Dean welcomed all attendees and gave an overview of the current curriculum offerings and the pending new programs awaiting approval.
The Graduate School also proudly introduced the new program chairpersons for some of its offerings. Dr. Lilibeth B. Saavedra for the Ph.D. in Development Education, Ms. Ana Vera V. Hugo for the M.S. in Agricultural Education, Dr. Rene N. Rabacal for the Master in Disaster Risk Management, and Dr. Marilyn B. Balderas for the M.S. in Plant Protection were additions to the list. The other program chairpersons who were retained in their posts are Dr. Ana T. Vibandor for the Ph.D. in Plant Science, Ms. Wenielyn G. Nilo for the M.S. in Agricultural Extension, Mr. Carlo B. Sabales for the M.S. in Animal Science, Ms. Zyla C. Avila for the M.S. in Plant Science and Dr. Ma. Cresilda M. Caning for the M.S. in Resource Management.
Acknowledgment and accolades were accorded to outgoing chairpersons for their dedicated service during their tenure at the Graduate School. Following the awards, Dr. Ma. Cresilda M. Caning, Chairperson of the M.S. Resource Management program, presented the comprehensive Graduate School policies outlined in the Graduate School Manual.
The program culminated with the closing remarks delivered by Dr. Allan B. Del Rosario, the new Campus Administrator for Pili Campus.
