The University’s Biometric Attendance Monitoring System (BAMS) went into effect again today, February 1, 2023. The new method, which is compliant with the Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular (CSC MC) No. 1, s. 2017 and the Philippine Standard Time Act (RA 10535), intends to encourage good governance and boost the effectiveness of tracking employee attendance.
Employees were enthused about the new system despite some early glitches, and many showed up early to register their attendance. The Human Resource Management and Development Office is looking into a few reported inaccuracies, though. After a month of operation, the system will be reviewed by the department, and any necessary improvements will be made.
This transition to biometric attendance tracking is a step toward achieving the University’s vision of transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the performance of its employees’ duties.
