The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Pili and the Municipal Agriculturist Office, conducted a training program titled “Training on Youth Leadership Development in Agriculture.” The event, themed “Seeding Change: Cultivating Youth Leaders for Sustainable Agriculture,” was held on November 23, 2024, at the Farmer’s Training Hall in CBSUA, San Jose, Pili.
The primary objective of the training was to enhance the leadership and management skills of young participants, empower them to take active roles in agriculture and encourage their involvement in agricultural decision-making processes. Mr. Fortunato Balbis Jr., a faculty member from the CBSUA College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), served as the resource speaker, providing expert guidance throughout the event.
Hon. Tomas P. Bongalonta, Jr., the Municipal Mayor of Pili, addressed the attendees with an inspirational message, urging the youth to embrace leadership opportunities within the agricultural sector. Also present at the event were Mr. Basil DR. Layosa, Agricultural Technologist from the Municipal Agriculturist Office and Local Youth Development Officer-Designate, as well as Hon. Manuel Leam B. Tormes, President of the SK Federation of Pili. Ms. Abigail V.
