Mindanao State University-Naawan Campus visited CBSUA on June 28-July 3, 2022 to assess the potential for sea cucumber R&D in Bicol.
MSU-N expert researcher on sea cucumber, Dr. Wilfredo Uy, assessed the CBSUA existing facilities to determine the potential for sea cucumber hatchery perceived to be the center sea cucumber hatchery in Bicol. The team also visited sites on Cagraray Island and Sorsogon State University.
MSU-N, which generated the technology on the sea cucumber hatchery, will serve as the project lead in partnership with four (4) SUCs, namely, CBSUA, ParSU, BU, and SorSU. The undertaking, which was facilitated by Representative Co, led toward sea cucumber industry development in Bicol intended to serve fisher folks by providing income opportunities.
