On November 20, 2023, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture hosted the Pili Fiesta Roadshow as part of a series of Roadshows throughout every province in Region V to promote the upcoming Pili Fiesta organized by the Bicol Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (BCAARD).
The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), an esteemed member institution of the consortium, is honored to host the event and welcomed the partner Consortium Member Institution (CMI) in the region, including DOST, DA, ATI, BFAR, PDC, ParSU, Pili nut entrepreneurs and agripreneurs, faculty researchers, extension implementers, and students.
The roadshow highlighted the presentation of the Pili NICER program by the different project implementers. This includes Pili NICER 1: Pili Genetic Resources by Prof. Judith Chavez; Pili NICER 2: Geo Mapping of Pili Farms by Dr. Vladimir R. Foronda; Pili NICER 3: Pili Propagation and Distribution and Pili NICER 6: Bio Inoculation of Pili by Dr. Lester M. Narvaez; Pili NICER 4: Pili Web Information System by Dr. Ronnel Atole; Pili NICER Project 5: Pili Pest and Disease by Dr. Marissa N. Estrella; and Pili NICER Project 7: Techno-Mapping and RetroFitting of Existing Pili Postharvest Processing in the Bicol Region by Engr. Christopher Pacardo.
This assembly not only signaled the robust preparations for the upcoming Pili Fiesta in December but also underscored the collective commitment to revolutionize and strengthen the Pili industry in Region V.
