Thirteen (13) Junior Clinicians and faculty veterinarians from the College of Veterinary Medicine conducted a Veterinary Medical Mission at Barangay Palsong, Bula, Camarines Sur, on March 14, 2023.
As part of the curriculum, the College of Veterinary Medicine immersed these veterinary students in applying their learning in actual situations to practice their future profession. Before the activity, the professional Vet Doctors oriented the students in preparing the necessary materials during the operation. The students handled the clientsโ pets properly and observed proper hygiene before and after the procedures.
A total of sixty-nine (69) pet owners were provided with free-veterinary services for their animal pets, such as spaying, castration, and anti-rabies vaccination. The Municipality of Bula, through the Municipal of the Agriculture Office, provided anti-rabies vaccines and other materials and medicines for the operations.
The activity was led by CVM faculty members, Dr. Jaime G. Tria, Dr. Oliver Salvacion, and volunteer veterinarian Dr. Williefredo Kho, through the efforts of the Local Government Unit of Bula, Municipal Agriculture Office, and Barangay LGU of Palsong.
The Junior Clinicians have several schedules of veterinary missions to different extension sites and partner Local Government Units of the College this March.
