CFTC, CEM HOST FINANCIAL LITERACY AND MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR INBRED RICE PRODUCTION

The Christian Farmers Training Center (CFTC) and CBSUA-College of Economics and Management hosted a Financial Literacy and Management training event focused on producing high-quality inbred rice, seed certification, and farm mechanization on May 30-31, 2024, at the CFTC premises in Cabinitan, Ragay, Camarines Sur.

Implemented under the Rice Competitive Enhancement Fund (RCEF), the training aimed to strengthen the adoption of certified inbred seeds and integrated crop management practices. The initiative underscores the CFTC’s and CEM’s commitment to empowering the agricultural community through knowledge and skill development in financial literacy and farm management.

The training featured faculty experts from the College of Economics and Management at CBSUA, including Sonny Corporal and Cresilda Caning, who served as resource speakers. Critical topics such as basic financial literacy and management, loan and credit, and credit management were covered, focusing on the five CS/KS essentials for successful agricultural entrepreneurship.

Dr. Manny Mendoza and Norma Mendoza, the esteemed farm owners of Christian Farmers Training Center, highlighted the importance of such training programs in achieving sustainable agricultural growth and enhancing the livelihoods of local farmers. “Through initiatives like these, we are not only improving our agricultural practices but also strengthening the financial acumen of our farmers, ensuring a more prosperous and resilient farming community,” said Dr. Mendoza. |Report from Abigael Rose F.
