With the theme, βFOSTERING BAYAW: Future Leaders and Innovators in Achieving Sustainable Development for Food Security,β the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers- Pre-Professional Group – Central Bicol State University of Agriculture Chapter, hosted the 24th Annual Regional Convention, which opened on March 24, 2023, at the CBSUA Atrium.
The convention gathered all agricultural and biosystem engineering students from Bicol University, Camarines Norte State College, Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology, and Central Bicol State University of Agriculture.
A Holy Mass, presided by Rev. Fr. Rolando B. Canonce, graced the convention’s opening. This was followed by the opening ceremony with Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, CBSUA President, delivering his welcome address. Engr. Andres M. Tuates, Jr., President, PSABE National; Engr. Harold R. Gestiada, EnP, President, PSABE Bicol Chapter; and Mr. Raymond R. Balino, President, PSBA-PPG National imparted messages of support to the undertaking. Dir. Rodel P. Tornilla, MABE, Regional Executive Director, DA-RFO5 represented by Dr. Marcial Bustarga gave a keynote speech. Moreover, Engr. Crestituto C. Mangaoang, ASEAN Eng, PSABE National Adviser and Board of Trustee discussed Plans and Programs of the PSABE.
To develop camaraderie and test delegatesβ knowledge and skills regarding their programs, a Patiribayan Games was held. The events included a quiz bee, AB Structure Challenge, CAD Challenge, Electrical Wiring Installation, Rice Combine Harvester Parts Identification, Tractor Parts Identification, and Tractor Driving.
The last and highlight activity of the opening day was the Search for Mr. and Ms. PSABE-PPG 2023.
The convention is a 4-day event from March 24 and will end on March 27, 2023.
