The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Pasacao Campus is taking a proactive step in shaping the next generation of environmental stewards through a strategic partnership with key government agencies.
A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was formally signed on August 13, 2024, by CBSUA President Alberto N. Naperi, establishing internship opportunities for Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (BSES) students with the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) V, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), Bicol Medical Center (BMC), City Government of Naga, and the Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) of Pasacao, San Fernando, Pamplona, Minalabac, and Milaor.
By immersing students in real-world environmental challenges, the program aims to equip them with practical skills and knowledge essential for addressing complex environmental issues. Through hands-on experience working alongside professionals, BSES students will gain a deeper understanding of their field and develop a strong foundation for their future careers.
CBSUA Pasacao Campus Administrator Dr. Kristine May C. Regaspi expressed her confidence in the program’s ability to produce highly skilled and competent environmental scientists. “This partnership is a significant milestone for our BSES program. It provides our students with unparalleled opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world settings,” she said.
BSES Chairperson Asst. Prof. Sheryl N. San Andres emphasized the program’s alignment with the university’s mission of producing globally competitive graduates. “We believe that this internship program will not only enhance our students’ academic performance but also prepare them to become effective leaders in environmental conservation and management,” she added.
