At 2:00 pm on March 16, 2023, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture exercised an earthquake drill in the DNAS, CAS, and Admin Buildings led by Dr. Philip N. Talay of the Resilience Center as the University’s participation in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.
The emergency alarm rang exactly at the time mentioned. Upon hearing this, personnel and students inside the identified buildings executed the duck, cover, and hold position. After a few more minutes, everyone in the buildings went out, in an orderly manner, while still covering their heads. The participants gathered in the evacuation space in front of the Admin building.
Emergency response teams then proceeded to look for victims in the buildings. There were a few injured individuals that needed medical attention that the teams have given first aid.
This is the university’s effort in ensuring the safety and security of the personnel and students in the event an earthquake happens in the campus.
