CBSUA-CALABANGA EMBARKS ON BENCHMARKING JOURNEY TO ENHANCE CURRICULUM AND INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Calabanga Campus recently concluded a benchmarking trip with the goal of improving curriculum design, instructional delivery, and industry partnerships. The journey, themed “Creating Innovations through Building Connections: Benchmarking Journey in Industries and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs),” took place from August 5 to 9, 2024.

During the week-long trip, the delegation visited various industries and higher education institutions to learn about best practices and establish connections. They explored opportunities for on-the-job training (OJT) for students, discussed curriculum alignment with industry needs, and sought potential partnerships.

Notable stops on the benchmarking journey included:
• Paseo Premier Hotel: Discussions on OJT opportunities for BSIT and BSHM students, early deployment during peak seasons, and potential partnerships through MOAs/MOUs.
• Laguna Auto-Parts Manufacturing Corp: Agreement on OJT terms and conditions, including wage rates and work hours.
• APEC Development Corp: Recommendations for intensifying values, work attitude, and customer-oriented mindset for OJT students.
• Bulacan State University (BulSU): Exploration of best practices in research, extension, and instruction, as well as successful implementation of programs like BindTech and food preservation.
• Central Luzon State University (CLSU): Learning about achievements in published journals, internationalization, and faculty development.
• Benguet State University (BSU): Discussions on accreditation, impact assessment, and curriculum appraisal.
• Basic Necessity Inc.: Introduction to technology-based raw foods, farming techniques, and market strategies.

The benchmarking journey was participated by a delegation of faculty members and administrators from CBSUA-Calabanga. The insights gained from these visits will be used to enhance the university’s curriculum and strengthen its partnerships with industries. | 𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴:
