Pursuing Holistic Student Development
To continue its pursuit of holistic student development in science and environmental concerns, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) spearheaded the Science Days event with the theme, “Science for the People: Enabling Technologies for Sustainable Development” on 25-27 September 2019 at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur.
The three-day event served as the celebration of Science and Technology Week and to honor the ten years of the college in its journey of continuous development for science, technology and the environment.
The said activity was made possible through the collaboration of the university together with the Biology Teachers Association, Inc. (BIOTA) Bicol Chapter represented by one of its members, Prof. Luigi Lorenzo Razal, RN.
Among the activities conducted were the ‘Science Exhibit’, Plant Festival, Symposium on plastic pollution, On-the-spot Recycling, Science Quiz Bee, and ScienTease. College of Arts and Sciences’ Faculty and student organizations led the said event.
Science Days 2019 aimed to develop an in-depth learning that would not be confined in the four corners of the classroom,” President of CAS-Student Council, Rommel Catura emphasized.
