On April 25, 2024, the Carmel Agri-Learning Farm Inc. and Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) collaborated to provide specialized training on the Production of High-Quality Inbred Rice, Seed Certification, and Farm Mechanization held at Binanuanan Sur, Pili, and Camarines Sur.
The event aims to improve agricultural education and practices in the region while revolutionizing Philippine rice farming. This training is part of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) strategic initiative, which aims to enhance the competitiveness and income of Filipino rice farmers in the new market environment.
The training was led by Mr. Joel S. Balindan, a faculty expert from CBSUA’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. He highlighted critical methodologies and tools farmers can use to assess nutrient deficiencies, compute fertilizer requirements, and apply agro-ecological systems analysis (AESA) for sustainable farming practices and maximum yield. | Report and photos from Abigael Rose F.
