The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture thru the CANR-DLEM and the Extension Services Division spearheaded “Seminar-Workshop on Integrated Pest Management of Insects with Public Health Importance,” on 14-15 November 2019 at Alvaro Rabina Hall, CBSUA.
The alarming number of cases on dengue particularly in the municipality of Pili was the main concern of the said activity. It aimed to raise awareness on the vector, epidemiology,prevention and control of dengue among participants; train the participants on how properly and systematically identify, eliminate, monitor and evaluate vector breeding sites in households; guide/assist the participants in crafting their DRRM Plan for Dengue; create Dengue Task forces in each barangay school;and seek support from the LGUs and schools through a Pledge Commitment Form. It also served as the springboard for a broader project as regards to the municipality-wide dengue management.
CBSUA’s president, Dr.Alberto N. Naperi signed a Pledge of Commitment along with the attendees from LGU,DepEd Teachers and all barangays of Pili in collaboration with the Provincia land Regional Health Offices. The said signing was an agreement to be involve and to support the upcoming projects on the prevention and control of dengue.
