The Farm Families for Good Agricultural Practices (FFA to GAP) extension program of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) College of Development Education (CDE) was named a finalist for the prestigious 2024 SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award, which highlights the theme “Promoting Lifelong STEM Learning through Community Engagement.” The recognition was announced in November 2024.
Notably, CBSUA’s Laboratory High School is the only high school from the Bicol Region to receive this honor. This year’s competition featured 161 schools from across 10 Southeast Asian countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The FFA to GAP program was initiated in 2014 under the College of Development Education (CDE) at CBSUA. The FFA to GAP program’s recognition underscores CBSUA’s commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural practices, STEM education, and community engagement, making a lasting impact on farm families in the region.
