The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Pili through the Municipal Agriculturist Office, Local Youth Development Office, 4H Club and KOMPOST implemented the Training on Farm Planning and Budgeting with the theme โPlan, Budget, Grow: Empowering Youth Leadership for Agricultural Entrepreneurship,โ on December 7, 2024, at the Farmerโs Training Hall in CBSUA, San Jose, Pili.
This activity aims to capacitate the participants on the importance of farm planning and budgeting for youth involvement in agriculture. Also, learn to prepare farm plans and budget requirements, and foster agri-preneurship that will encourage youth to start and manage agricultural activities.ย
Present during the activity, Hon. Tomas P. Bongalonta, Jr., the Municipal Mayor of Pili, delivered an inspirational message that encouraged youths not to feel embarrassed about being farmers or agricultural students because even he, at a young age, learned how to grow, manage a farm, and drive a tractor. In addition, he also talked about taxes from various industries in Pili, Camarines Sur, such as the dressing plant, pensumil in Pili, and other agencies, all of which are related to the topic of the training.
In addition, present at the event were Mr. Basil DR. Layosa, Agricultural Technologist from the Municipal Agriculturist Office and Local Youth Development Officer-Designate together with Ms. Caroline Resayaga, RBO Coordinator, as well as Hon. Jay Ar Sentillas, Vice President of the SK Federation of Pili. Ms. Abigail V. Guinoo, is a faculty member of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) and the proponent of the YOUNGSTERS Project which focuses on youth development. The BSA Animal Science students (4C3) assisted also the implementation of this activity and Mr. Andrew S.
