The activities commenced with the Trade Fair featuring various government agencies such as DA, BFAR, ATI, extension beneficiaries from different municipalities, student organizations in the university, and private organizations and individuals. The trade fair allowed the participants to showcase their agricultural and non-agricultural products and forge potential partnerships with other stakeholders.
Subsequently, the OVPBEA held a farm tour. This activity educated the participants with the current agricultural income-generating projects of the university. This also featured the crop produces of the university where participants did a Pick ‘n Pay activity.
The highlight of the OVPBEA day is the fishing contest participated in by the teaching and non-teaching employees of the university. The contest was held at the Tilapia pond in the CBSUA Agriville. The winner was determined as to whoever had the heaviest catch. The top three winners received cash prizes. All participants in the contest got to bring home all of their catch.
Dr. Cesar Armando S. Camba, Sr., the VP for Business and External Affairs and Overall Chairperson of the OVPBEA Day, emphasized the benefits that participants would gain from the activities including wider range of networking and collaboration among participants, advanced learning on agricultural production and best practices in sustainable farming techniques, and a grater appreciation of the value of recreational activities.
The successful OVPBEA Day showcased CBSUA’s commitment to promoting agritourism as a sustainable income-generating initiative while fostering stronger community partnerships.
