CBSUA PLANS TO DEVELOP NEW ECONOMICS PROGRAM ALIGNED WITH INDUSTRY LEADERS

The College of Economics and Management (CEM) and the Department of Agricultural Economics (DAE) from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) are collaborating to launch a Bachelor of Science in Economics program at our university. To ensure the program’s quality and relevance, faculty members from both colleges conducted a comprehensive benchmarking activity from July 1-5, 2024.Β

They visited the country’s top universities: Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), University of the Philippines – Diliman (UP), University of Asia and the Pacific (UAP), De La Salle University – Manila (DLSU), and University of Sto. Thomas (UST).Β

These visits provided valuable insights into curriculum structure, teaching methods, graduate success, research opportunities, faculty expertise, industry-aligned skills, student support services, and facilities.

The universities offer various economics programs, including AB Economics, BS Economics, BS Business Economics, and BS Business Administration major in Economics. Each program boasts unique strengths and specializations to cater to students’ diverse interests and career goals.

Several distinctive features set each program apart. UST tailors its AB and BS programs to students with different inclinations, whether liberal arts or business-focused. UAP’s unique 6-year integrated program offers a comprehensive education from senior high school to master’s degree, preparing students for the complexities of the modern economy. For high-achieving students, ADMU provides an honors program with advanced coursework, research opportunities, and mentorship from leading faculty. UP includes access to extensive databases and advanced statistical software. Finally, DLSU’s internationally benchmarked program, with its ASEAN University Network (AUN) certification, ensures a world-class education. | π˜™π˜¦π˜±π˜°π˜³π˜΅ 𝘣𝘺 π˜™π˜©π˜¦π˜―π˜¦π˜³ 𝘎. π˜‰π˜Άπ˜€π˜’π˜₯ 𝘒𝘯π˜₯ 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘡𝘰𝘴 𝘣𝘺 π˜‹π˜ˆπ˜Œ 𝘍𝘒𝘀𝘢𝘭𝘡𝘺
