CBSUA’s membership with the Camarines Sur – Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council was made official during the 1st quarter regular meeting at CSPC Auditorium, Nabua, Camarines Sur, on January 23, 2024, reflecting a strategic partnership between academia and disaster management authorities.
CBSUA’s entry into the PDRRMC brings vital knowledge, research capabilities, educational expertise, and support to the forefront of disaster planning in the province.
This collaboration highlights the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in disaster management; with CBSUA contributing research-backed insights and community-focused strategies in the council, a robust institutional sustainability mechanism will be in place. The university’s direct involvement in planning and decision-making emphasizes its commitment to proactive disaster resilience.
Discussed during the meeting were the numerous DRRM-related activities that the council will be conducting for this year. They are backed with the full support of the local government unit of Camarines and the whole community. CBSUA’s membership signifies a stride toward a safer and more secure Bicol Region, underlining the power of collaborative efforts in fortifying disaster resilience.
