OVPAA, CEFS SPEARHEAD STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING FOR BSND

On June 13, 2023, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) and the College of Engineering and Food Science (CEFS) joined forces to conduct a Stakeholders’ Meeting aimed at finalizing plans for the proposed Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) program at the Ciraco Divinagracia Hall, brought together representatives from various institutions and organizations, marking an important step towards program implementation.

Dr. Ana Mirana, the Vice President for Student Affairs, and Dr. Jennifer Ebona, Dean of the College of Engineering and Food Science, expressed their heartfelt gratitude and delight at the active participation of the stakeholders throughout the meeting. Their valuable insights and contributions were pivotal in shaping the direction of the BSND program.

The meeting saw a diverse range of attendees, including representatives from prominent organizations such as the Bicol Medical Center, Partido State University, Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology, Department of Health, Department of Science and Technology, Pili National High School, as well as Local Government Units of Baao, Iriga, Canaman, and Camaligan. Private practitioners, who play a crucial role in nutrition and dietetics, were also in attendance.

Most of the stakeholders expressed optimism and support for the University’s plan to introduce the BSND program. Furthermore, they provided valuable input and suggestions to enhance the curriculum, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of the industry and provides students with a comprehensive education.
