OSAS, GUIDANCE COUNSELING UNIT HOST MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGN 2023

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, through the Office of Student Affairs and Services- Guidance and Counseling Unit, spearheaded a Mental Health Awareness Campaign on October 23, 2023, with the theme, “Our Minds, Our Rights.”

This Mental Health Awareness Campaign brought together the student organizations, uniting the campus community to promote mental health and well-being. The highlight of the event was the mental health awareness seminar featuring Mr. John Michael M. Revilla, RGC, RPm as the resource speaker. The event adopted a hybrid approach, allowing both physical and virtual participation.

Through a live broadcast on Facebook, the campaign effectively reached students from all campuses. Complementing the seminar, the campaign also hosted two vibrant competitions aimed at promoting creativity and raising awareness through a Poster Making Contest and Video Ad Making Contest. Group Workshops for PWD students were also conducted during the afternoon sessions. The university’s steadfast commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where mental health is a priority was evident throughout the campaign.

“Our Minds, Our Rights” underscored the importance of destigmatizing mental health issues and ensuring that every individual’s mental well-being is acknowledged as a fundamental right.

This Mental Health Awareness Campaign stands as a testament to the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture’s dedication to promoting a holistic and nurturing educational experience where the mental health of its students is valued and safeguarded. | Report from Ms. Leizle Manacob, University Guidance Counselor
