CBSUA SIPOCOT EYES ENGINEERING PROGRAM; BS ENGINEERING UNDERGOES PROGRAM REVIEW

On April 17-18, 2024, CBSUA-Sipocot underwent an assessment of its proposed Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BS Engineering) program, held at the faculty room of the College of Industrial Technology.

The review, held at the College of Industrial Technology’s faculty room, started positively with Prof. Douglas Angel A. Aragon II, Coordinator of Quality Assurance, extending a warm welcome to the evaluators. Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, SUC President IV, emphasized CBSUA’s commitment to expanding its program offerings in line with its development plan. Prof. Rowel M. Castuera, Campus Administrator, highlighted the institution’s dedication to continuous improvement and academic excellence.

Education Supervisor II, Engr. Geronimo A. Buenavente, PhD, outlined the role of the Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) and provided guidelines for the evaluation. Prof. Salvacion A. Eje, Coordinator, Curriculum and Instruction Division, introduced the key individuals behind the development of the BS Engineering program:

Lead Proponent of Electronic Engineering: Prof. Ian L. Sagario

Proponent of Electrical Engineering: Prof. Allan D. Taupa

Lead Proponent of Mechanical Engineering: Engr. Ian M. Lontok

Overall Proponent: Prof. Rowel M. Castuera

The afternoon session, led by Engr. Martin D. Valeras Jr. included evaluation activities and an ocular inspection of the Engineering Building and Library. Dr. Grace L. Negrete, along with other staff, participated in documentary analysis and interviews regarding their offices in relation to the proposed program.

The comprehensive three-day evaluation process for the BS Engineering program marks the beginning of a significant step forward for CBSUA-Sipocot.

The CHED Technical Committee and Regional Quality Assessment Team continued their evaluation of the BS Engineering program on April 18, 2024. Discussions on program requirements, planning, documents, and curriculum took place in the morning.

An on-site visit to the school library and laboratory shops of the COT building followed, led by Ms. Dolores C. Perez, College Librarian I. Engr. Geronimo A. Buenavente, PhD., and Engr. Keith Marlon R. Tabal, MSc., PECE, spearheaded the evaluation along with other faculty members.
