In a significant step towards bolstering academic collaboration, the University of Mataram (UNRAM) and the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) have announced their intent to expand the International Credit Transfer Program (ICTP) partnership on September 3, 2024. The initiative aims to foster deeper connections between the two institutions, particularly within the fields of Industrial Engineering, Informatics Engineering, and Law.
In a formal invitation, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of UNRAM, Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, reached out to potential study program partners at CBSUA to discuss further collaboration avenues. The proposed meeting was scheduled on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 14:00 GMT+8 via Zoom.
The meeting explores opportunities such as faculty visits, credit transfers, and joint conferences. The event was attended and expected to bring together key academic leaders from both institutions, spearheaded by the CBSUA Sipocot Campus Administrator, Prof. Rowel Castuera, including the deans of various colleges at CBSUA, Dr. Darrel Ocampo, Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Dennis Gabon, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology, Prof. Dionesia Beraรฑa, Dean of the College of Criminology, and Prof. Odelio Macinas, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology.
Additionally, notable faculty members and coordinators, including Prof. Mercy Navarro (Program Chair), Maโam Rosalie Marie Zuniega (Faculty & Campus PIO), and Prof. Dick Harence Dela Vega (Research Coordinator), were also present. The meeting was moderated by Sir Bong B. Siguenza Jr., Faculty of the College of Education at CBSUA.
This collaborative effort is part of an ongoing partnership that began earlier this year and has shown promising results. Four faculty members of the College of Education, in the name of Dr. Darrel M. Ocampo, Dr. Maria Liwayway P. Matamorosa, Prof. Rhea Catalina Padayao, and Ma’am Liaden Lopez joined the said program and served as faculty exchange and lecturers.
Meanwhile, 24 students from the English and Science Departments served as students exchange who attended online classes facilitated by their Indonesian teachers. The online meeting aims to discuss strategies to enhance this partnership and ensure a robust and mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources.
