With the aim to increase youth interest in organic farming as a viable substitute for conventional farming, the OAC, with its Director, Ms. Lily John B. Casimiro spearheaded a Symposium on Organic Agriculture attended by 4th year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students on November 28, 2022 at the CND Hall.
Speakers of the symposium are Dr. Carmelita Cervantes, retired professor of CBSUA, organic agriculture farmer and trainer, owner and manager of Carmel Agri-learning Farm, Inc.; and Rev. Fr. Ian Salvador Trillanes, OA practitioner, consultant, advocate, and former member of The National Organic Agriculture Board.
This symposium was conducted in partnership with ESD and CANR and was aired live on Facebook through the Extension Services Division FB page. Dr. Marilyn b. Balderas, Dean of CANR, formally opened the program and an inspirational message was given by Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, SUC President IV.
