Research duties and responsibilities:

a. Assist the Vice President for Research, Extension,
Production and Entrepreneurial Development in the
planning, implementation, management and evaluation of
the various research and development programs of the
University including its budget;
b. Supervise the implementation of R & D programs and
projects of colleges and campuses of the University;
c. Spearhead the assessment and packaging of matured
technologies for dissemination and commercialization;
d. Lead in the formulation of research-based policies that
will improve the governance and management systems in
the University;
e. Coordinate with other government agencies, local
government units (LGUs), research-related networks
(BCAARRD, BCIERRD, BIFIRDEN, BFHE, RAFC, and
others), non-government organizations (NGOs), and
private industry in the development, commercialization
and utilization of technologies;
f. Establish active linkages with local, national, and
international organizations to generate additional
resources to support the implementation of research and
development programs;
g. Establish a strong monitoring and evaluation system of R
& D programs to ensure that project objectives are met
and achieved on time;
h. Establish an effective knowledge management system to
ensure the promotion and utilization of technologies
produced and use valuable information in support to
sound policy decision;
i. Supervise the daily activities of the staff of the University
Research and Development Services Office;
j. Spearhead the preparation of the annual work and
financial plan, procurement programs, and annual
accomplishment reports to be submitted to the Office of
the VPREPED;
k. Promote harmonious relationship with other Research
and Development Services coordinators in other
campuses; and
l. Perform other duties and functions as delegated by the
University President.
