The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) collaborates with local communities to support sustainable aquatic ecosystems through key initiatives:

Coastal Resource Management: CBSUA’s San Miguel Bay Research and Innovation (SMB-RI) Center helps LGUs in the Bicol Region develop coastal management plans for sustainable marine resource use.

Advisory Roles: CBSUA advises FARMCs around San Miguel Bay, serves on the Fisheries Management Area 1 board, and represents academia in IFARMC, contributing to policies for San Miguel Bay and the Philippine Rise.

Community Engagement: CBSUA leads workshops and outreach to raise aquatic conservation awareness, fostering community stewardship.

These partnerships underscore CBSUA’s commitment to sustaining aquatic ecosystems. Supporting documents include MOAs, activity proposals for the SMB Coastal extension project, photo documentation, a CRM planning MOA with LGU-Calabanga, and the FMA1 2023 report and framework.
