CBSUA Extension Services Division partnered with the DA- Agricultural Training Institute RTC 5, Local Government Unit of Minalabac and Bermudes Agricultural Farm in conducting training on Vetiver Grass Awareness Course on 29 June 2021 at Bermudes Agricultural Farm, San Juan St., Minalabac, Camarines Sur.
LGU Minalabac- Municipal Agriculturist, Engr. Elias A. Dela Austria, Jr. welcomed the participants in the activity.
CBSUA Vetiver Center Director, Dr. Melchora V. Abonal introduced and discussed about vetiver grass and its importance. Her team also advocated for the various uses of vetiver grass without spending much in its cultivation.
DA-Agricultural Institute RTC 5 Center Director, Ms. Elsa A. Parot gave her closing remarks and appreciation to the 20 participants.
The training aimed to capacitate farmers in the important benefits and uses of vetiver grass in the farming system and to let them acquire knowledge that vetiver grass has the potential to be used as raw material in handicrafts that can also serve as an alternative source of livelihood for the farmers.
