In order to promote cooperation and advancement of academic,research and cultural exchanges, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and the Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK) Indonesia partnered during the “CBSUA and UMK Joint International Seminar on Academic, Economic and Cultural Undertakings (JISAECU) 2019 on 4-6 November 2019 at CBSUA Auditorium.
Themed “Advancing Globalization through Collaboration,” the two universities entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) through its SUC President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi and the UMK Rector Dr. Suparnyo, SH., MS together with UMK faculty member Dr. Subarkah, SH., M. Hum (Vice Rector for Collaboration),Dr. Mamik Indaryani, MS. (Head of Research and Community Service), Dr. Slamet Utomo, M. Pd (Dean of Teacher Training and Educational Faculty), Mutohar, S.Pd., M. Pd (Head of International Affairs Office) and Etni Marliana, S.E., MGES UMK, Indonesia.
The said collaboration aimed to develop collaborative research projects; conduct academic and cultural visits for more in depth understanding and awareness of culture; lectures and symposia; strengthen students and faculty exchange program as well as exchange and sharing of academic and cultural information and materials;lastly to strengthen other forms of academic cooperation. The activity also served as a fitting avenue for the faculty not just to acquire knowledge but also to share ideas through the research presentations and open forum.
Before the MoU signing, the UMK faculty visited the province of Albay and paid courtesy to the Municipal Mayor of Pili, Hon. Tomas P.Bongalonta Jr. as part of the cultural familiarization.
Academic Affairs Cluster headed by Dr. Ana E. Miraña, and VP for Expands International Linkages Prof. Cesar Armando S. Camba, Sr., International Relation Officer Dr. Hermelina S. Azañes and the deans of various colleges led the said collaborative activity. It was also participated in by the Administrative Council members of Sipocot, Calabanga and Pasacao, all chairpersons, SSC/Federation officers, and all Faculty members of Pili Campus.
