Enfleshing this year’s National Arts Month theme, “Ani ng Sining, Bunga ng Galing,” the Sentro ng Wika at Kultura-Arts and Culture Affairs led the NAM Celebration culminating activity on February 17, 2023 at the CBSUA Social Hall.
Starting the celebration was a grand parade of the participants around the campus led by the CBSUA Band and Majorettes. Participants included representatives from all CBSUA Campuses, SWK-ACA-affiliated Student Organizations, and Laboratory High School Students.
After the parade, the programme continued at the social hall. Dr. Leopoldo R. Transona, Jr., Director of SWK/ACA, delivered a welcome message. Dr. Ana Mirana, the VP for Academic Affairs, also gave an inspirational message.
To impart valuable information to the Stateans, distinguished guests were invited to speak. Mr. Michael Andrew Embestro, Committee Member on Education, NCCA, gave a comprehensive talk about this year’s NAM Celebration theme. Moreover, Mr. Ferdinand Dimadura, Filmmaker and Bicolano Artist, discussed the significance of art based on his experience as an artist.
The highlight of the event was the body-painting contest participated in by the four campuses. Each body paint reflected the theme of the NAM celebration.
In between segments of the program, talents from the Stateans from the four campuses were showcased through performances such as dance and song numbers.
The culminating activity of the NAM Celebration in CBSUA proved how Stateans always strive for excellence to reap bounties of the arts.
