The Sentro ng Artistikong Manlilikha ng Identidad at Talento Alumni Association (SAMBITAA) achieved a remarkable milestone by securing 3rd place in the prestigious National Pastores Competition, Vamos A Belén 2024. Representing CBSUA Calabanga Campus, SAMBITAA’s alumni have once again demonstrated the unparalleled artistry and cultural pride of the Bicolano community. Their dedication to preserving and showcasing traditional Filipino culture through performance excellence deserves commendation.
This success is a testament to the group’s unwavering commitment to their craft and the inspiring leadership and mentoring of Prof. Richard G. Castor and Dr. Rosa U. Cid, whose guidance has been instrumental in their achievement.
The Vamos A Belén National Pastores Competition, hosted by the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, is a celebration of Filipino Christmas traditions through Pastores dances.
Open to school-based, community-based, and professional groups, this event fosters cultural heritage and highlights creative talent nationwide. Held at the CCP Black Box Theater, it is part of a broader initiative to revive and preserve traditional Filipino holiday customs.
