HRMDO ORGANIZES PRE-RETIREMENT SEMINAR AND THANKSGIVING CEREMONY

On March 15, 2023, the Office of Human Resource Management and Development organized a Pre-Retirement Seminar and Thanksgiving Ceremony at the CND Hall to empower those nearing retirement age with comprehensive knowledge about available programs and benefits, and maintain sound mental well-being and emotional resilience during this transition period.

The event commenced with Opening Remarks from the Chief Administrative Officer for Administration, Dr. Ramon Arimado, followed by a discussion of the HR Reminders delivered by Mr. Luigi Lorenzo N. Razal, the University HRMD Officer. Mr. Razal discussed the necessary preparations pre-retirees must undertake and elaborated on the benefits awaiting them post-retirement. An open forum provided a platform for pre-retirees to address their concerns and queries related to retirement transition. Subsequently, Ms. Mariben C. Pante, the Staff Officer I of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Naga branch, Claims Unit, shed light on Republic Act No. 8291 and detailed GSIS retirement benefits, programs, and computations. Ms. Pante also demonstrated the use of GSIS Touch, an application facilitating contribution monitoring. An ensuing open forum allowed participants to seek clarifications regarding GSIS services.

The afternoon session commenced with an icebreaker to invigorate the pre-retirees for ensuing discussions. Dr. Antonieta A. Rodriguez, a retired Associate Professor from Ateneo de Naga University and a Psychometrician, delved into psychological well-being, addressing the potential psychological effects of retirement and strategies to tackle associated challenges. Drawing from personal experiences, Dr. Rodriguez provided invaluable insights into navigating retirement. Following this, Mr. Raynor A. Rodriguez, the current Deputy Secretary to the Mayor of Naga City, explored spiritual well-being, offering pre-retirees further tools and insights for a fulfilling transition into retirement.

Concluding the seminar, University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi expressed gratitude to the pre-retirees for their dedicated service and commitment to the university’s mission, vision, and goals. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘴. 𝘎𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘺 𝘈𝘯𝘯 𝘌. 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪, 𝘏𝘙𝘔𝘋𝘖 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘧𝘧
