Out of 22 participants from 11 universities around the country, Mr. Renz F. Ibasco and Ms. Shenna Marie S. Sierda, both senior clinicians of the College of Veterinary Medicine won 3rd place in the Virtual Quiz Bee dubbed QuizCon: Can You Beat AMR? on 24 November 2020.
The quiz contest covered questions on knowledge about Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) as an advocacy to stop further resistance of microbes to the action of antimicrobials. This event was sponsored by the Bureau of Animal Industry in collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization AMR Program. The first place came from the School of Veterinary Medicine-Aklan State University while the second place was bagged by the students from the College of Public Health-University of the Philippines Manila.
Mr. Ibasco and Ms. Sierda were able to participate in the quiz contest through the University ICT Office headed by Prof. Vladimir Foronda.
Absence of internet connectivity was a problem prior to the contest because of the recent onslaught of typhoons in Bicol Region.
