CBSUA PASACAO COMPLETES ITS 4TH QUARTER EARTHQUAKE AND FIRE RESPONSE DRILL

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Pasacao Campus recently completed its 4th Quarter Earthquake and Fire Response Drill on December 6, 2024, at 2 PM. This initiative aims to strengthen the university’s preparedness and response capabilities during natural disasters.

The drill was conducted in collaboration with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management (MDRRM) led by Edmer Miravalles, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), under the leadership of SFO4 Solomon P Tanay Jr.; and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Pasacao, Camarines Sur.

During the drill, the CBSUA Disaster Management Team was activated to fulfill their designated roles in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. The Medical Team, led by Darwin Roy S. Berja and supported by the Red Cross Youth Council, coordinated medical responses, while the Search and Rescue Team, under Jay B. Espinosa and the ROTC Unit, focused on locating and assisting those in need. The Building Safety Inspection Team was directed by Engr. Argem Christe Marie C. Marco and Victor T. Obsequio, while the Fire Suppression Team was managed by the utility personnel. The Security Team was led by Frank P. De Mesa, with Eduardo L. Morada Jr. serving as the deputy Incident Commander.

In his address, SFO4 Solomon P. Tanay Jr. emphasized the importance of conducting regular drills to reinforce safety practices and protocols, enhancing the preparedness of all students and employees. Following the drill, the CBSUA Disaster Management Team, BFP, and MDRRM held a closeout meeting to evaluate the event and discuss potential improvements to the university’s contingency plans and response protocols.
