In a lead toward fostering community development and progress, the Extension Services Division (ESD) of CBSUA-Calabanga Campus successfully conducted a workshop entitled “Crafting the University and Community Engagement Agenda” on April 29, 2024,ย at the Library Multi-purpose Hall. This initiative is a testament to the university’s commitment in extending its educational resources and expertise beyond the confines of the campus and into the heart of the community it serves.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from the deans and faculty extensionists of the College of Education, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Industrial Technology. This diverse gathering of academia was essential in ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to develop the engagement agenda, ensure that the initiatives are holistic and cater to the community’s varied needs.
Prof. Arthur B. Estrella, a renowned strategic planning and development management expert, graced the event as the resource speaker. Alongside him, Prof. Vladimir R. Foronda, the esteemed Extension Director of CBSUA, shared invaluable insights and guided the participants through the intricacies of crafting compelling and sustainable extension agendas. Their expertise was instrumental in enlightening the attendees on the best practices and innovative strategies for community engagement.
The facilitators, comprised of the dedicated ESD staff, played a crucial role in steering the conversations and ensuring that every voice was heard and every perspective was considered. The workshop’s outcome was a harmonized and specified Extension Agenda for each participating college, marking a significant milestone in the university’s extension services journey.
The crafted agendas are expected to serve as a blueprint for the colleges’ extension initiatives, aligning their academic programs, resources, and expertise with the real-world needs of the community.
