This collaboration shall provide free internet access lasting two years to communities where CBSUA campuses are located.
University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ana E. Miraña lead CBSUA together with Mayor Tomas P. Bongalonta, Jr. of Pili, Mayor Niño Tayco of Pasacao and Mayor Tomas A. Bocago of Sipocot Camrines Sur. Two barangays from each municipality were also signatories: Brgy. San Jose and Caroyroyan, Pili; Brgy. Sta Cruz-Ratay and Paolbo, Calabnga; Brgy. Santa Rosa Del Norte and San Cirilo, Pasacao; and Brgy. Impig and Malobago, Sipocot.
As the university transitions to digital delivery of instruction due to the pandemic, the free internet access will help geographically disadvantaged students whose broadband connectivity is generally poor. Access to digital learning resources shall enrich student engagements as well as quality of instruction.
The collaboration with LGUs further aims to sustain the project by shouldering the internet subscription fees after two years upon the implementation of the project. This collaboration strengthens the trifocal approach sustainable development.
