CBSUAβs speaker Hon. Rodel P. Tornilla inspired graduates to continuously strive and thrive despite scarcity and public doubt in his message delivered during the 93rd Commencement Exercises on June 23, 2022, at the University Athletic Field.
The said speaker is an alumnus of the University finishing a degree in agricultural education. Through his willpower and grit, he is now the Regional Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture in Region V. He is a true pride and honor of the university because of all he has accomplished from being a performing student of CBSUA.
He has become a genuine inspiration as an alumnus as he reminisced his struggles before he was able to graduate from the university being the lone awardee in his batch.
He emphasized that being able to finish a degree in the university is something that all graduates must be proud of because of all the hardships all students must go through before even passing an academic subject, aside from the tasks they must undertake that require the cultivation of soil and planting of crops.
He continued his speech by reminding the graduates about the fulfillment and satisfaction of working not for money but delivering results that are driven by passion. βSuccess is not measured in terms of money alone, success in part is to be able to do your passion, your happiness, and [attain] fulfillment with your family and that is what I chose to follow,β he emphasized.
He shared, as well, how much his peers have accomplished and how far these people have reached as graduates of CBSUA.
βAs graduates, it is not enough that you have ambition, you have to prepare for it, you have to learn it, master it, and when the time comes, that opportunity knocks at your door, you will be ready and very qualified to take it. Then, it would be the time to grab it and embrace the chaos associated with it,β he said.
He ended his speech by urging the graduates to stand up to the challenge and make a difference, not only here in the Philippines, but in the entire world.
