A curriculum writeshop titled “Building the Future of Medical Education: The Curriculum Writeshop for the Doctor of Medicine Program” was held on May 21, 2023, at Villa Caceres Hotel in Naga City.
This event was organized as part of the university’s initiative to offer an affordable medical program to the Bicolanos. The main objective of the writeshop was to create a curriculum for the Doctor of Medicine program that aligns with the university’s agricultural identity.
Mr. Vergel Miranฬa, a professor at CBSUA, served as the resource speaker for the event. He shared his expertise in curriculum and syllabi development, emphasizing the need to establish a distinct branding for the CBSUA Doctor of Medicine program that reflects the university’s philosophy, vision, mission, and goals.
The curriculum writeshop, facilitated by selected faculty members from CBSUA, generated substantial outcomes from the participating doctors who contributed to the course syllabus. These outcomes included detailed course descriptions, allocated hours, and recommended resources.
The realization of the Doctor of Medicine program at CBSUA is drawing closer, and the curriculum writeshop marks a significant milestone in its development. With the support of the medical industry and stakeholders, CBSUA is confident that the program will meet the demands of the community, producing highly competent and professional doctors who value agriculture and recognize the significance of food as medicine.
