A group of 31 farmers graduated from the Farmers Field School on Corn Production and Management at CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub on October 8, 2024. The program, a joint initiative of the Department of Agriculture and the Local Government Unit of Pili, aimed to equip farmers with essential knowledge and skills to enhance their corn production practices.
During the graduation ceremony, Mr. Buster Ibarbia, Project Development Officer III of CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub, emphasized the importance of empowering farmers to contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector. Meanwhile, Ms. Dolores G. Bongalos, Municipal Corn and Cassava Program Focal Person, commended the graduates for their dedication and hard work, expressing hope that their newfound knowledge would lead to increased yields and improved livelihoods.
The event also highlighted the role of CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub as a Learning Site for Agriculture and Agri-Tourism destinations. Ms. Reina Joy B. Mediado, Tourism Operation Assistant, invited the graduates to explore the Hub’s facilities and participate in its various activities.
Engr. Amabel N. Bombase, Regional Corn and Cassava Program Coordinator, stressed the crucial role of farmers in ensuring food security and driving economic growth.
