The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) made a significant impact at the 11th International Conference on Agriculture 2024, held from September 23 to 24in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference brought together leading educators, researchers, policymakers, and industry experts from around the world to discuss innovative agricultural solutions.
CBSUA was represented by Dr. Marilyn Balderas, Mr. Jayryl Enano, and Ms. Lizalyn Villano, who shared their research findings with the international audience. Dr. Balderas presented her work on “Yield and Postharvest Fruit Quality Assessment of Field Grown Tomato Applied with Carrageenan and Inorganic Fertilizer,” while Mr. Enano focused on the “Effects of Vermicompost Tea and Radiation-modified Carrageenan on Tomato Yield, Fruit Quality, and Postharvest Attributes.” Ms. Villano discussed her research on “Collection, Characterization, and Conservation of Turmeric Accessions in Bicol, Philippines.”
CBSUA’s contributions were recognized with several accolades. Dr. Balderas was honored as the Session Best Presenter, receiving a medal and a certificate for her outstanding research. Mr. Enano was appointed as a Country Coordinator for the Philippines by The International Institute of Knowledge and Management (TIIKM) and AGRICO. Additionally, CBSUA was officially recognized as an academic partner institution by TIIKM and AGRICO, a testament to the university’s contributions to the field.
Beyond research presentations and plenary sessions, the conference provided opportunities for international collaboration.
