CBSUA CELEBRATES 15TH CHARTER ANNIVERSARY WITH INNOVATION AND FUN

Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) marked Day 2 of its week-long 15th Charter Anniversary on October 8, 2024, with a vibrant array of events, including a technology fair, trivia quiz, and fun games, led by the Research and Innovation (RI) Cluster.

The university’s administration building buzzed with excitement as students and staff explored the Techno Fair Exhibit, showcasing innovative technologies from various RI Centers and the university’s commitment to advancing agricultural practices through technology.

In addition to the Techno Fair, a Trivia Quiz tested participants from the different CBSUA campuses on interesting facts about research and innovation, with categories for students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel. This engaging competition fostered a spirit of camaraderie among the university community.

The day’s highlight was the RI Agrilympics, a series of entertaining games with participants laughing and competing fiercely. Activities included: “Yummy ka Kabute: Timpla Mo, Kainin Ko!” where players showcased their culinary skills by preparing mushroom-based dishes; “Balutin mo Ako: Pag-gawa ng Fruiting Bags Sharonian Style,” challenging participants to prepare the most fruiting bags using specific substrates; “DARAKMAAN: Catch Me Baby!” where teams raced to transfer tilapia fish between buckets; and “TIRILADAN: Crack Me, Please!” where groups competed to crack 10 pieces of pili nuts without damaging the contents.

Dr. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez, Vice President for Research and Innovation, emphasized that these activities align with the anniversary’s theme, “A Milestone of Progress: Celebrating Innovation and Transformation.” She noted, “These events serve as a platform to recognize the contributions of our students, faculty, staff, and partners to the university’s success.”

Ramirez further highlighted that the activities inspire collaboration and innovation, reinforcing CBSUA’s mission of evolving alongside the agricultural sector and society. “By celebrating our dynamic changes, we strengthen our dedication to meeting the needs of our community and build connections with external stakeholders for future advancements,” she added.
