Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) has successfully completed a four-day internal audit, reaffirming its keenness to maintaining high standards of quality and environmental management. The audit, conducted from September 30 to October 3, 2024, covered both the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) across its four campuses.

A team of dedicated lead auditors, led by Dr. Rosa Ubano-Cid as the University Lead Auditor, conducted the comprehensive evaluation. The audit process was tailored to each campus, with Dr. Marabel Bernal leading the audit at Calabanga, Prof. Reggie B. Capistrano managing Pasacao, Dr. Charlie P. Nacario heading Pili, and Prof. Rhea Catalina Padayao guiding Sipocot.

The internal audit served as a self-assessment to ensure CBSUA’s compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards. The audit process involved evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the university’s quality and environmental management systems, as well as its adherence to applicable statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements from the top management to the different centers, offices, and sections.

Following the audit, a structured post-audit process was initiated to address any identified non-conformities and ensure continuous improvement. Requests for Action (RFAs) were issued to relevant process owners, who are responsible for submitting corrective responses. Additional activities, such as Campus Management Review and University Management Review, will be conducted to verify the implementation of corrective measures.

Top management has shown consistent commitment to these standards, fostering a culture that values compliance with ISO requirements and supports every effort to enhance the University’s processes and outcomes. Their encouragement reinforced a shared vision for excellence and sustained alignment with global standards in quality and environmental management.

President Alberto N. Naperi emphasized the importance of the said activity, stating the internal audit reinforces the university’s commitment to quality and environmental standards in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, driving forward CBSUA’s mission of sustainable practices, continuous improvement on its services to students, employees and the community across all campuses.
