The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) held a preparatory workshop on July 25-26, 2024, at the CND Hall to lay the groundwork for its upcoming Long-Range Plan (LRP) Phase III. Key officials and representatives from the university’s academic affairs, administration and finance, research and innovation, and business and external affairs clusters gathered to review the current strategic development plan and chart the institution’s future direction.
The two-day event aimed to prepare the university for the LRP crafting scheduled for August 15-17, 2024, in Sorsogon. Participants engaged in discussions and presentations to refine CBSUA’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives, while also determining the timeline for the next strategic development plan and identifying key priorities.
Vice President for Administration and Finance, Atty. Dominador F. Faurillo, emphasized the importance of a long-term perspective in strategic planning. “We must look beyond the present and anticipate the challenges and opportunities of 2050,” he said, challenging participants to envision CBSUA’s future landscape.
The workshop included breakout sessions where cluster representatives assessed the progress of their sectoral development initiatives and identified areas for improvement. By identifying gaps and developing action plans, CBSUA aims to create a comprehensive LRP that addresses the university’s needs and strengthens its position in the region.
As CBSUA moves forward with its strategic planning process, the university is committed to creating a roadmap that will guide its growth and development in the years to come.
