The Extension Services Division (ESD) and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) provided trainins on Upland Farming Systems using Sloping Agricultural Land Technology at Doeng and Din Integrated Farm and Resort last July 14-15, 2022. The activity was led by Edlynne Kaith R. Manlangit, BSAF-CANR Faculty, and Prof. Melchora V. Abonal, Ph.D., Director, Vetiver Center. The training was supported by the Municipal Agrcultural Office of Bato headed by Municipal Agriculturist Hector O. Llagas.
Maricho C. Cuarteros, the owner of the farm together with CBSUA team established upland farming systems using the Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) using vetiver grass as the hedge row.
The objective of the training is to provide farmers with the information and skills necessary for upland farming using Sloping Agricultural Land Technology that may effectively create objectives, enhance their farming management abilities, and grow their agricultural knowledge. Introducing the vetiver grass technology that intends to provide an additional source of income and might create new business options.
