The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, in collaboration with Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation, conducted a Training-Workshop on Accounting for Non-Accountants held on July 7, 2023, at CBSUA, San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur to provide participants with the necessary skills to understand record business transactions effectively.
This training workshop is under the Social Enterprise Development (SED) project for the Economic Resilience of Disaster Survivors in Bicol. The topics included basic accounting concepts, sources of fundsโliability or loans, personal savings, typical account title used, single-entry accounting process, cash receipts journal, cash disbursement journal, receivable monitoring, payables monitoring, and a workshop about recording business transactions using single-entry accounting.
Ms. Jemirah Blessing Cantoria, CEM Faculty, served as the resource person who guided participants through various basic accounting concepts. She conducted a hands-on workshop for the participants as a practical exercise, such as recording business transactions using the single-entry accounting method. Through guided-interactive exercises, they developed the skills to accurately record transactions, maintain financial records, and generate basic financial reports for their businesses.
