As a significant step towards strengthening the ties among Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, Magarao Vegetable Growers Association (MAVEGA), Carangcang Cut-Flower Grower Organization (CAFGO), Local Government Unit of Magarao, Office of the 3rd District of Camarines Sur, DA ROV, and Angat Pinas, Inc., a Memorandum of Agreement was signed on June 21, 2023.
This agreement aimed to make collaboration and cooperative projects among the university, farmer organizations, and other governmental entities seeking sustainable agricultural practices and rural development. The parties recognized the importance of collaboration to uplift the lives of the community. As the partnership unfolds, the CBSUA, MAVEGA, CAFGO, LGU-Magarao, Office of the 3rd District of Camarines Sur, Angat Pinas, Inc., and DA ROV were poised to make significant strides in sustainable agriculture, rural development, and farmer empowerment. By working together and pooling resources, they aim to create a transformative impact that resonates throughout the agricultural sector, benefiting farmers, communities, and the broader society.
Representatives from different government agencies and non-government organizations supported the collaboration by attending the signing ceremony. Present during this significant event are the chairman of Angat Pinas, Inc., Atty. Leni G. Robredo; 3rd District Congressman, Hon. Gabriel H. Bordado, Jr.; representative of Department of Agriculture RFO 5, Engr. Marcial Bostarga; Municipal Mayor of LGU Magarao represented by the Municipal Councilor, Hon. Boboy Bediones; Municipal Agriculturist, Ms. Anicia P. Mancita; the MPDC & Angat Buhay focal person, Mr. Rico Alvia; and the representative of the Punong Barangay of Carangcang by Kagawad Ronan Iñigo.
Moreover, at the behest of the CBSUA President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, Vice President for Research and Innovation, Dr. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez graced the significant event during the opening program. Furthermore, the CBSUA Extension Director, Dr. Vladimir R. Foronda, facilitated the MOA signing proper. Other government agencies and institutions were also present during the event, including the DTI Provincial Office, where the DTI Officer, Mr. Mark John A.
