The Office of the Vice-President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI), in Partnership with the Futures Thinking Project, conducted a Writeshop Activity entitled, “Writing Publishable Paper for Journal Publication Integrating Futures Thinking,” on March 8-9, 2023.
The activity was facilitated by the Knowledge Management Center. The activity primarily aimed to capacitate faculty researchers in writing publishable articles for journal publication. The participants of the activity were those who have completed research from 2018-2022.
Ultimately, the outputs of the 2-day activity will have the opportunity to publish in the two official journals of the University, namely, Agrikultura: CBSUA Research and Innovation Journal (ACRIJ) and Multidisciplinary Research and Extension Journal (MREJ).
Dr. Emerson L. Bergonio, Director of Institutional Planning and Development of the University, discussed Futures Thinking and its significant roles in Higher Education Institutions. Dr. Jezie A. Acorda, a professor from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, was the invited resource person. Before discussing his topic, he donated journals to the College of Veterinary Medicine. His talk covered research processes, emphasizing the creation of publishable articles from the conducted research projects. The writeshop included exercises for the participants to enhance their skills in writing publishable articles as well as presentation of their respective research titles and corresponding abstracts, which Dr. Acorda critiqued. He provided the list of journals where the participants may submit publishable articles according to their discipline and highlighted how journals process their publications. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳
