The Bicol University, in partnership with the Bicol Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (BCAARRD), led a 3-day workshop titled ‘RAISE Bicol Convergence Workshop.’ The event brings together eight state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the Bicol region, including Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), to promote the commercialization of technologies generated from research.
The workshop, now in its second year of implementation, is part of the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) program. The program aims to strengthen the regional innovation system for agriculture and aquaculture by promoting collaboration among SUCs, local government units, and the private sector. CBSUA is honored to be a part of this collaboration, which provide a platform for the SUCs to share their research findings and explore potential commercialization opportunities.
The university believes that this partnership will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in the Bicol region and ultimately benefit the farmers and the local communities.
The RAISE Bicol Convergence Workshop is a significant step towards promoting innovation and commercialization in the agricultural sector in the Bicol region. The collaboration among the SUCs and BCAARRD will help to create a sustainable and inclusive agricultural system for the benefit of the local communities and farmers.
